Course Overview

This course includes our foundation year in Business Management, which will help you evaluate your strengths and identify your specialist area of interest. During the first year of this four-year course, you will build the skills and confidence necessary to advance to our BSc Business Management programme.

Year 0

This course aims to familiarize students with the essential principles of academic conduct.

 

You’ll cultivate a diverse skill set essential for the field of business and management, emphasizing abilities such as academic writing, creative problem-solving, effective communication, and research methodologies.

Year 1

You will be exposed to modules on operations and management, alongside business finance, to help you achieve a foundational grasp of business practice principles.

You’ll discover how strategy is integrated at the managerial level to bolster the business and operational functions of an organization.

Year 2

In the second year, you’ll showcase your proficiency in recognizing, critically assessing, and utilising global business practice theories. Additionally, you’ll be given the chance to engage in a practical work experience or undertake a professional assignment.

  • Enterprise Innovation and Responsible Business Practice – 40 credits

Year 3

In your concluding year, you’ll expand upon the insights gained in the first and second years, using that knowledge to address real-world business challenges. Your in-depth comprehension of business research, cultivated over the years, will empower you to create an exceptional final project.

By engaging in a collaborative study setting and interacting with peers from various courses, you’ll hone both the technical and interpersonal skills that are highly sought after by employers.

Such a team-oriented learning approach will allow you to delve into various aspects of business operations, deepening your grasp on the evolution of organizations. This foundation will also be instrumental in fostering connections that can propel your growth post-graduation.

Entry requirements

Applicant should have at least one of the stated UK/international qualifications or their equivalent.

Qualification accepted:

  • Three A levels, grade C or above

  • Three vocational A levels, grade C or above

  • Level three Extended Diploma, grade MMM or above

  • National Diploma, grade DD or above

  • Advanced Diploma, grade C or above

  • International Baccalaureate, 24 points or above

 

VCAD fully supports T Levels as a new pathway to university study and will accept the relevant UCAS Tariff points for T Levels across all courses.

English Language Requirements

Students should possess a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher (which includes English) or an equivalent qualification.
